    You have to create a sketch and use the command "Insert image" (or "add image", I dont know how does it appear in the english version). You can resize it as you want. Then finish sketch and use the command "decal": you select the image and the surface where you want to put the decal, and its done.

    i cant figure out how to put decals onto the objects. Any advice?

    Great job. I understand how hard it is to make cars in Inventor, but looks like you figured it out pretty well.
