The boatel is a waterside hotel to be designed primarily for boating and other watercraft enthusiasts. They offer both transient land facilities for journey breaks as well as a point of arrival/departure for the area around it.
I explored the concept of the virtual as a space of potentialities distinct from the tangible, measurable world of actual space, using digital generative techniques. A method which limitlessly contained element of the virtual which allowed me to give rise to unexpected results, translation of my design from virtual to actual space and eventually the final stage of actualization.
Working with virtually produced formations may sometimes not conform to traditional concepts of architectural type and program, as the effects and modes of occupation of such formations shift constantly, however, they produce innovative designs that is not interested in ordinary linear and predetermined types of effects and causes; which has always been my major area of interest and for today’s architecture means embracing and exploring the potential offered by digital techniques.
