Alright, this sheet is a good sample of how you should be using the reinforcing tool and create your schedules and quantities. What is so special about this sheet you may ask? Look at how we are able to accurately estimate the amount of steel in Lbs. that we would need for a project using the amount of bars showing. Now, think of how much of steel reinforcing is used on a multy level parking garage or in a mille of hwy. Having accurate data for your boss or the client can get you a free lunch :)

On this sheet if you look close you can see how some of the bars are a clashing with other bars. I model this rebar job to prove that the design that was submitted on regular 2D, single line (old school) had a fatal error. If this was error was found on site, and the cement trucks were on there way, $$$$$$ lots of it.

Segmental Box (DWF)

Dec 12th_This segmental box for a conceptual bridge. I am actually going to use this model to tryout the newreinforcing steel tools and see how it all works on NavisWorks---------------Dec. 15th_Some of the reinforcing steel is in now but it needs more work. if you have a DWF viewer use the -FULL JPG IMAGE- option for better resolution. Yes, Santiago Calatrava is my hero. If you are hangry for a source of inspiration you should definitely buy one of his books. Aim for the high!!

Alamillo Bridge (concept 01)

This is a design similar to the Alamillo Bridge in Seville, Spain by the Engineering Santiago Calatrava. I found a picture of the bridge on a book and I was able to scale the image and cameup with this geometry. This will be the staring point for my next 3D design model using Revit Structure 2009.
