Re-Ligare Institute

My submission for the ACSA/AISC 2009-2010 Steel Design competition modeled and rendered solely in Revit 2011, Diagrams you see on boards were done with Illustrator. Key aspects in my interpretation of the program was this understanding of relationships between elements. In order to reconnect we must first learn who we are and how we relate to each other. The idea of reconnecting, sparked in me this idea of intermingling different programmatic, structural, and environmental aspects into a cohesive whole. Just as the Body cannot function without the mind, The building cannot function without the integration of structural and environmental systems. What is more important though is that these elements are interdependent and must work together to be efficient. In my approach all of these different aspects begin to intertwine in a symbolic helical pattern around a natural tree grove located at the rear of the site. If you look closely you begin to understand how there is no stark boundaries between spaces but all of these spaces begin to blend over into other programmatic spaces either visually or directly. This idea becomes clear primarily in the public spaces where the boundary between functions begins to blur; such as in the performance space where wall panels can be rolled back to reveal the pool area as well as a suspended dining area. All of the programmatic spaces are wrapped around this glass interior courtyard which frames the tree grove allowing for a natural filter of views across the courtyard to other programmatic spaces informing this idea of the importance of balancing the mental, physical, natural, and social aspects of one's self.

Pedestrian Bridge

This is a Pedestrian Bridge Project Designed by some of my colleagues who asked me to later model it in Revit. So I did and this is the final project.

EPA Atlanta

School Project I am working on of a new mixed use development in Atlanta.

5 museum

For my final studio project second year I was tasked with creating a museum at little five points in Atlanta, Georgia. An area located at the intersection of five roads. In my design I tried to use the idea of 5 and incorporate it into my design. My final project displayed the notion of continuously circulating path around gallery spaces. The path then went on to intersect 5 times on varying levels through out the museum. Other features include an exterior temporary exhibit space surrounded by water, as well as a gift shop and lower level cafe.

Mill Creek Nature Center

An image of a design I did in my 3rd year studio class at southern polytechnic state university. The project was to build a Nature Center right across from the largest mall in Georgia. My design was to be a transitional space between the man made and natural. This was accomplished through the process of layered spaces and the foreshadowing of experiences to be found in the following nature trails. Medical Cancer Center

IN my third year studio design class we were tasked with creating a mobile cancer treatment facility for areas such as Katrina. My design was a self expanding module that could be trucked to any location using a roll off truck.
